Q. I need to be cost effective if I’m going to outsource this position – how much is this going to cost?
A. We conduct what is referred to as "Con-tainer" searches: flat-fee
arrangements that combine elements of retainer and contingency methods
of payment. When compared to a traditional contingent or retained
search, this unique structure yields a significantly higher caliber of
candidates.
Several factors are taken into consideration when determining our fee structure. Unlike the majority of search firms, our pricing is not based on a percentage of the candidate’s salary or overall compensation (most firms charge 25-30%, on average). We charge a flat rate based on the role this position will play with your company. Factors such as industry, location (or relocation), experience, education and most importantly, personality are all weighed.
By utilizing a flat-rate pricing model, you are able to budget accordingly before initiating the search and take comfort in knowing your pricing is not going to fluctuate based on the candidate’s compensation. As far as ballpark estimates go, the placement fees for a senior-executive position (C or VP-level) range from $20,000 - $45,000, mid-level or regional executive positions from $14,000 - $22,000. Non-management positions are typically under $14,000. All positions come with a 6-month performance guarantee (see below "What kind of performance guarantees do you provide?").

Q. What payment options do I have?
A. We conduct what is referred to as "con-tainer" searches: a fee
arrangement that combines elements of retainer and contingency methods
of payment. 15%
of the total placement fee is due upon initiation of the search. The
remaining balance is divided into two equal payments, the first due
upon acceptance of an offer from a candidate and the second due upon the candidate's start date. For example, if the total placement fee
is $18,000, a retainer of $2,700 is required initiate the search. The
remaining balance of $15,300 would be divided into two equal payments
of $7,650 each per the above schedule.
Q. How much risk am I taking by outsourcing this to someone else?
A. The
risk you take is by trying to fill the position yourself. If you are
like most managers, recruiting and hiring are not your primary
responsibilities. You may or may not be aware of the time commitment
involved in hiring a strong candidate, not to mention the fact that if
you hire someone and they do not work out you're back to square one.
Q. What is the typical turn-around time in filling a position?
A. Our
goal with most positions is to have an accepted offer from a candidate
within 45 days of initiating the search, and 75% of our placements are
filled within that timeframe. It is the exception that a successful
search exceeds 90 days.
Q. What is my involvement in the recruiting and hiring process?
A. Your
involvement is critical before the candidate search begins. Our
recruiting team must have a thorough understanding of exactly the type
of individual you're looking for, so initially we will need you to
dedicate some time to helping us build the candidate profile.
Throughout our recruiting and screening process, we will require some
periodic feedback from you and your hiring managers. Once the
candidates are identified and we make our recommendations, you can then
conduct your own face-to-face interview(s).
Q. What kind of performance guarantees do you provide?
A. Our
standard guarantee with all placements is 6 months from the start date.
Should the candidate fail to maintain employment with your company for
the duration of the guarantee, we will replace them with a more
suitable candidate at no charge. We offer extended guarantees of up to
one year on most placements.
Q. How do I know the people you’re sending me are qualified for the job?
A. Much
of our focus is on finding individuals who have relevant experience
either in your industry or parallel industries. Another key component
of finding the right candidates for your company is identifying the
daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities of the position-often times
this is more important that finding someone with industry experience.
For example, if your position requires that sales representatives spend
an average of 3 hours a day prospecting and cold calling, many times
you would be better served hiring a candidate coming from a job where
they had similar responsibilities as opposed to a candidate from the
same industry who did not have to make cold calls.
Q. What if you’re not able to fill my position?
A. We will fill the position--and we'll do it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
